| The Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds plays host to several popular annual events including the Georgia Mountain Fair, the Georgia Mountain Roots & Music Festival, the Superstar Concert Series, the Georgia Mountain Fall Festival and Georgia’s Official State Fiddler’s Convention.
The Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds are located along the shores of beautiful Lake Chatuge in the north Georgia mountain community of Hiawassee and is only two hours from Atlanta, Greenville, Asheville and Chattanooga. The Fairgrounds offer a wide-variety of unique venues, and beautiful year-round camping facilities.

Towns County Tourism Association and the Georgia Mountain Fair sponsored the 1st GA Mountain Moonshine Cruize-in car show in August 2009. The show brought approximately 5000 visitors to our area and was a tremendous success. The car show will be back in August 12,13,14, 2010 for three days and the promoter Rakes Parrish will be speaking on Thursday, February 11 at 5:30 PM in the Anderson Music Hall at the fairground. Please plan to attend this important community meeting, as your ideas are very important.

The Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds proudly presents George Jones with Opening Act, Wilson Fairchild ('Formerly known as Grandstaff, www.grandstaff.net') in concert in the Anderson Music Hall.
George Jones had his first hit at Mercury Records in 1959 with “White Lightning”. Other well known #1 hits such as, “Tender Years”, “She Thinks I Still Care”, “The Window Up Above”, The Race is On”, “He Stopped Loving Her Today”, and “Walk Through This World With Me” has made Jones one of the top male singers in country music.
